as Now the Diabetes is reversed, the next important task remains about timely follow ups and regular monitoring the patient with vitals including Blood sugar levels, dietary Guidance and Hba1c levels.
Hba1c levels to check every 2 months initially for 3 months, if those reading are in non diabetic zone then every three monthly you can monitor those.

Yes we can definetly use it for excellent glycemic control and medicine tapering. Many of our senior doctors have used it with great success to reduce sugar levels and taper medicines or insulin in such cases. But definetly due diligence has to taken. In cases with active weight loss I would definetly suggest to consider alternatives. In other cases we can start diet kit with added portion of sneha ( ghrit) and balya protein. The target is to provide low carbs while making sure no muscle loss happens, also to avoid vaat prakop. Also in this cases patients excercise has to be strictly controlled. Avoid too much cardio or walking and focus has to be on strength training, yoga and meditation. Additionally external snehan with tanupusthi oil/til oil at home is adviced in this cases. Senior doctors who have handled such cases should share one or two case experience for better clarity.

Hello Dr. Archana,
First of all I will like to congratulate you for your confidence in tapering medications of a Low BMI DM patient keeping his sugar levels in control. Helping such a patient to maintain his HbA1C levels in control without Insulin and OHA is a great task.
I would like to clarify one point here that GTT is not the target for such patients. You should consider Hba1C as the parameter of reversal in such patients.
As you rightly said, to grow the muscle mass you have advised your patient for strength training and you should be aware that growing muscle bulk is a time consuming process.
According to me, you should conduct his GTT after a year of maintaining his HbA1C under 6 and growing his muscle bulk considerably so that the consumed sugars can be well utilized by his muscles.

Hello Doc,
You are absolutely right. You can add some Ghee or Til oil to the basti kadha. In the near future, a new Anuvasan basti formulation in trial at present, will be launched to handle such Vata vruddhi related low BMI patients.
The new formulation will help the patient to stop weight loss and also help in weight gain also keeping his blood sugar levels in control.
As well this patient you mentioned if has his HbA1C under 6.5, it seem the patient has good control of his blood sugar. In that case, a new oral supplement called PND in trial also can be given to the patient. Contact Dr. Rahul Mandole or your ZMH for the same.
